Back from the DR

August 15th? Where has this month gone?

I'm back from the Dominican Republic. I'm really not very organized yet. They lost my luggage on the way back. Left my ipod nano on the plane...crap.

It's good to be home now. I've completed 22 separate airplane flights in my summer travels. I think that is enough air travel. I'd probably have to join the airline union if I did any more.

Lots of stories and thoughts to share across all three of my trips. I'll intersperse them with my usual nonsensical humor though and spare you a never ending travelogue. In the meantime, I'll just throw up some of the more scenic shots I took in the DR. More stories later.

This just happens to be the pool at the hotel where we stayed. It was on the fourth floor...great view too.
The back courtyard of our hotel. This was a small luxury hotel. Apparently celebrities stay there when they want privacy vacationing. More on how we ended up here later.
Riding up the cable car to the top of the mountain. You can see the other cable car heading back down. Not a trip for those afraid of heights.
But the view from the top of the mountain was spectacular. We were staying on the large circular beach.
A the top of the mountain was a nature preserve. Beautiful pathways and lush gardens.
After that we went canyoneering up a river with 27 waterfalls. You had to swim, climb, slide and jump to navigate up and back on this river adventure.

Yes, the water was fabulous, clear, and turquoise. Went snorkeling and diving for shells here.
A boat tour of a lagoon set along the ocean. It was very interesting riding through there.
Looking out of a large sea cave.
Some of the coastline was simply coral cliffs with turquoise water. Very nice.
It's good to be back. I'm now slowly trying to get into more of a routine and adjust to one time zone. There were days when I would forget what day, time, or even country I was in.
I'm still off on vacation for 3 weeks but hanging around close to home. I went hiking yesterday. Today, it's another high 80s day with blue sky and low humidity. How can I be expected to do anything on a day like this?

The question is- is this a stop off or are you back? If back- welcome back! You have been missed.

If a stop off- TEASE!
