Idealism vs Realism

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
I took the one less travelled by
and that has made all the difference...

of about 5 hours and $150 while I hiked back to the fork, hitchhiked into town, found a tow truck and got my feakin' vehicle off that "less travelled" road.

kan - Yeah, but its still funny for a Monday! That's what an optimist gets for their troubles. Muh hah hah. Anyway, my post on Sunday was very "Glass full" so I'm covered for a couple of months I think

did the driver have a banjo when he picked you up?

anne - No, twasn't me that made that unwise choice. Had I taken the road it would have invariably led to me a 60 foot sink hole that would take me three days to get out of...

VE, why did you omit the all-important lines:

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:

By quoting only the final lines, you are perpetuating the popular misreading of the poem.

Oh, no! What a godawful looking hole to get stuck in.

kurt - OMG, there are other words? ;)

sj - See; this is what happens to the adventurous

uncivil - Do you think their using their vehicle to dig a ditch for a sprinkler system?

ab - Me too

laura - That's the way everything is; fun to get into, not out of

carla - Luckily no, just a figment of my goofy imagination and a little photo stealing...
