Potporri Monday

Don't forget to enter your picture into the anti-caption contest. Refer to the post from Friday. You've got until this Friday to send me a pic, link a photo, or just spell out the address in the comments. I'll post a voters poll on Friday to pick. Meanwhile, here's your usual fantasical nonsense...

A bunch of miscellaneous today...

I thought about taking the day off today but that just gets in the way of my blogging. I'll probably just do the usual get in late, take a ridiculously long lunch, and leave early routine.

I did finally go skiing yesterday. Where else can you get an $18 salad and a $15 hamburger?

Speaking of restaurants and food...

What is with the creative naming of an entre'? Night on Nacho Mountain? Are you kidding me? More like after you eat it will be night on toilet lagoon!

Or how about Road to Romaine. I really don't want to have to take a road just to get my damn salad!

I think it's a requirement that the people who write fancy dancy restaurant menus have to go to adjective class because I rarely use "savory" or "glistening" in everyday conversation.

I finally got that difficult-to-get present for my kids. No store had it in stock, I couldn't order it, and I couldn't sign up to reserve one if they got any in. Nope...I was forced to continually call and hope I'd get lucky. I was; I called and they had one. I had them hold it while I drove over. Of course, when I picked it up; turned out it wasn't the only one they had but there was a pile of about 30 of them. It's a bit sad that I was actually disappointed I hadn't gotten the only one.
How pathetic

At first I thought your entre said, "Night on Macho Mountain", which I imagine would be a very different thing.

Thanks to creative cheese placement I am now able to offer the wife an all inclusive stay for one Night on Nacho Mountain.

I hope she doesn't ask "Why make a mountain out of a mole hill"

LOL. I can't remember the last time I had a restaurant entre' that wasn't overladen with adjectives. It might be okay if they lived up to the hype, but they rarely do. 'Night on Nacho Mountain' is just slightly over the top.:-)

jeff - Actually, I just don't want to imagine that, thank you!

justacoolcat - Wow, an all insclusive stay; very good!

sj - Yeah, and do you think over-the-top made it taste any better? No, just had to pay more.

I ordered a dish at a Thai restaurant called Honeymoon Lover. How could I not order something called Honeymoon Lover? Turned out to be squid.
