Glow

MPK is a glow-in-the-dark paint company that has recently announced a new product -- Litroenergy. It's made of self-luminous micro-particles that are cheap, non-toxic, and will keep a glow for over 12 years. They never need to be exposed to the sun or recharged in any way, they just glow like hell. The material can be injection molded or added to paint and can glow in any color desired. "The light is said to be equivalent to a 20 watt incandescent bulb" and the cost of a glowing 8 x 12" object is about $0.35. (from Geekologie)

I see this as oncoming trouble. Who will be the first to get drunk and suddenly find himself / herself injected in the ass with green glow that will last for 12 years?!

Personally, I think I’ll paint my car with that stuff; imagine how visible I’d be then?

Get yourself a green T-Shirt and paint something on it that cannot be seen in the daytime but when it gets dark, it suddenly becomes visible. Cool…

I wonder if they can do some in orange, it would do wonders for Halloween.

The uses and abuses are endless…

I want me some. I'd spray paint my grass and the leaves on my trees.

First thought:

Fill silicone implants with it. Then you can really say 'Your headlights are on!'

(Is that just an Aussie phrase? Translation: Cold nipples showing through clothing looks like headlights..... It loses its magic if you have to explain it. Meh. Someone pass the chocolate...)

How's about they fill light bulbs with it?

I want to place a single drop on the common house fly and create a firefly invasion!

I want to paint traffic lights with it and watch the chaos.

If I was a kid I would create a secret path in the woods and leave a little mark on the trees as a trail for my friends to follow. But alas, adults don't get to do cool things like that.

Sounds poisonous.

nessa - Great idea, the neighbors would be so jealous...

kelley - That's hillarious; and I can see it happening...

iamnot - Sort of like the black light effect?

kan - You are mischevious! Funny ideas for sure!

jeff - Don't let "the man" stop you. You go ahead and create your treasure trail ;)

kurt - Of course it is! It wouldn't be fun otherwise.

I'd streak my hair with it.
