Yep...nearly broke some ribs yesterday...
Sure, I could tell you that I got too much air on the half pipe doing that 720 turn...
Sure, I could tell you that flying through the trees I brushed the last one while going through a tight squeeze like Luke flying through the Redwoods in the last Star Wars movie (ok, it was actually the third one made...)
Sure, I could even tell you that I almost pulled off that daredevil jump from the rock cliff.
But I'm secure in my manliness.
So I can tell you that yes, while I did crack some ribs, it was because I slipped on some ice while having lunch out on the street. That's right, the ski boots just came out from under me and it would have been a stupid fall except for that damn wooden bench sitting there.
Why it took great skill to thrust my rib cage right into the corner of that bench. I believe that will allow me to successfully complete my prat fall portion of the stuntmen union.
So a little bit of time, lots of alcohol and some choice pain killers and I think I'm ready for the slopes again today.
Stay tuned for tomorrow when I peel off my skin...

Skiing accident, ouch! Okay, technically not a skiing accident, but ski-related. Come back in one piece so you can amuse us with more fantastical nonsense. :)
Those ribs are looking a little raw. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Are you on the death diet?
theresa - I'll try to continue and amuse. Somehow I didn't find the cracked ribs amusing...
carla - they feel raw!
nessa - Seems I'm going one step further and eliminating the skeletan too...one bone at a time.
Mmmm, reminds me that we're going to a rib joint tomorrow night!
Oh sorry, that wasn't why you posted this is it.
Um... oh yeah, sorry you got hurt. I hope you feel better soon. (whew)
Those are not baby backs.
To paraphrase Alex Trebek, when you're young and you get injured, it takes a day to get better, but when you're forty, it takes a year.
jeff - Yeah, I love eating ribs as much as the next guy...just not my own!
camplin - Neither are mine!
kurt - True, quite true. But then again, it's hard to stop the truly stupid. Case in point, I broke them on the first day of the ski trip and then proceeded to ski for the next 3 days as well.
