Annual Stupid Pet Costumes

Well, yes indeedy, it’s that time again. Time to do pets in costumes. That’s right. It’s a tradition here at Fantastical Nonsense to feature pets in costumes for Halloween. Why? Because they look pitiful and stoopid! Without further ado…

He’ll be just in time for Thanksgiving too…

Hey, they poop these things out all the time anyway. It fits…

Careful…they’re fattening

Pets in Oz costumes, Oh my…

I fart in your general direction! You're mother was a hamster and your father smelled of Elderberries!

When 200 dog years you get, look so good you will not

Gimme all your carrots…

Now you’ve got to have courage to wear that…

Luke, I am your bulldog...cleaning up my poop is your DESTINY!

B E E utiful, aren’t I?

In the event of a water landing, please use the papers in the garage…

Watch you lookin' at!

See you later doggiegator… After while crocodile…

ok, i am not a well woman. i generally agree that pet costumes are annoying, stupid, and wrong, but the monty python one and the alligator....they made me laugh.

I must be also be ill. I laughed out loud at "I fart in your general direction". Makes me want to put in the DVD.

I also think the Star Wars pet costumes were good and yes, the gator is a winner.

Sharon said...

Wow, each costume is better than the next. I love the lion and the doggie-eatin' gator. I'd love to dress up my dog, but she'd probably eat the costume.

VE said...

lime - You sicko!!! ha ha Come on...they're funny! No pets were hurt in the making of this post!

reforminggeek - I threw that one on there on-the-fly. Just seemed to fit. I should watch that movie again too!

sharon - Yes, it takes a certain pet disposition to do these. Notice none of them are smiling?

Kanrei said...

Every single one of those dogs looks ready to kill the person who dressed them like that at their first chance. They all have that "Abu Gareb (sp?)" look about them. PETA should concentrate on animal dressers.

VE said...

kan - Ha ha. Yes, I just pointed that out to Sharon too while you were commenting this. Poor animals...but they're still too funny not to laugh...

Jacki said...

I actually laughed at the McDonalds and Monty Python costumes. Good thing I am working from home today!

MJ said...

I can't say anything - I'm waiting on the XS doggie chicken costume to go on sale at Target so I can dress up my yorkie.

I should be ashamed, I know.

Chris Wood said...

Darth Vader and the alligator are great ideas.

Evil Genius said...

ROTFLMAO!!!!

And I hope the cuties in the McDonalds costumes form a posse and exact revenge upon their evil masters!!!

VE said...

jacki - Good thing you weren't at work. Laughing at a blog when everyone thinks your reviewing technical documents isn't a good thing...

mj - A Yorkie. Don't let my wife see your Yorkie. She makes me comment about cute dogs if she happens to look over my shoulder when I'm blogging. Doesn't she know I have a comedic rep to maintain? Sheesh...

chris - The alligator one is quite creative I must admit...

evil genius - Yes...when pets finally overtake us on this planet...it's not gonna be pretty for us.

I must defer to the Dead Kennedys, today;

You're dressed up like a clown
Putting on your act
It's the only time all year
You'll ever admit that

Disclaimer: While the song "Halloween" may contain certain inflammatory lyrics about corporate culture, it should not be inferred in any way that I have nothing but unadulterated love and affection for Silicon Valley and my employer.

roy - Go watch office space again. Take notes. The Dream of Doing Nothing is everything you hope it will be!!! I know...

Kirsten said...

The lion is great! LOL!

VE said...

kirsten - It looks like part grooming and part costume...

Megan said...

People are strange...

VE said...

megan - I have that song on my ipod...

QuirkyLoon said...

At first I couldn't decide between Yoda dog and Lion Dog as being the best costume, but once I saw croc dog...that was it!

No need to look any further!

These are hilarious! I have three mutts and we NEVER dress them up...not there's anything wrong with that!

It's just not the way Quirky rolls!

LOL

Well I'm working from home....Emma is sick...she has a chronic sinus infection and phlem-filled lungs. Poor girl slept until 9am this morning.

Thank goodness for laptops, VPN's and understanding bosses.

VE said...

quirkyloon - Yeah, it's pretty hard to beat that croc one for originality. And you can roll whatever way you want! I tend to roll downhill...it's easier.

jacki - Sorry to hear Emma is sick. That's no fun at all. And I would aso like to say thank goodness for bosses that don't know you exist. Without them, I'd actually have to work!

Bee's Musings said...

VE, guess which one is my favorite??

If you said the "Bee" one, you would be correct!

I have two dogs, one is an airhead and would eat her costume, the other one would me my hand if I tried to put a costume on him.

Bee said...

I meant, would EAT MY HAND.

The Offended Blogger said...

Awwwwww!! I love the lion one, that is too frigging cute. :)

Quickroute said...

Dog gone cute!

Serena said...

Oh, those poor little things! I can just feel the embarrassment wafting off them. I'm not even going to admit that some of them made me smile; that would mean there's something wrong with me, and we KNOW that ain't true.:-)

HeyJoe said...

I think folks that dress up their pets have a screw loose.

Or maybe it's me.

Uncivil said...

I love the line you put with the Darth Vader mutt the best!
Yes....cleaning up my dog's poop is my DESTINY for sure!!!

Actually I saw you the other day around town. You were making a stink as usual:

LMAO Those are adorable. I wonder if my dog would be willing to where that alligator one?!!

Captain Dick said...

If I dressed my dog up like this, he would never talk to me again.

My dog is wearing a Guinness top hat--it's my personal endorsement.

The Incredible Woody said...

I hang my head in shame. My dog has a pirate costume......

VE said...

bee - Yes, I thought of you when I put that one on there!

offended - Wonder if you can train him to roar?

quickroute - I'm waiting for Kurt to weigh in on this post...he HATES it when I feature these...

serena - I didn't see a thing!!!

heyjoe - Ya think? ha ha

uncivil - It's their only payback for a life of servitude

emmak - Bwahahaha, that is so sweeet! I'm definitely wearing that to the super model party.

angiess - Look at those dogs faces...I don't think so....

captain dick - Ha! Trick him into thinking its HIS idea

prefers her fantasy life - All things go good with Guiness they say

incredible woody - It's ok, it's ok, our hotlines are standing by

I don't like my dogs enough to dress them as anything. Hell, they're lucky to get a bath every 6 months..lol

Matt-Man said...

I have to echo some of the previous comments. Good shots, but in actuality people who dress their pets in any fashion need one of three things...

To get laid, put into a home, or just die altogether. Cheers!!

Kelley said...

More proof that you Yanks are freaking weird.

OH EM GEE.

(and stop bitching that I don't comment, I ain't visiting anyone lately...)

VE..
Now the alligator, I can really find some funny in. The rest of it makes me want to whack the pet's owner on the head with a spoon.
I love your caption on gator dog, I think that would make nice notecards and fridge magnets etc.

Sarah said...

I am embarrased to admit I tried putting a costume on my cat once...that did not end well.

VE said...

dani - I understand. I'm lucky to get a bath every 6 months

matt-man - I agree. I'm willing to help out all the super models that do this to get laid instead...

kelley - It's the hermit crawling out of her cave!!! ha ha ha. See what happens when you don't make your rounds!!!

eve - Spoon wacking is a competitive sport! Train hard. And fridge magnets are my speciality!

sarah - Cat - 1 Sarah - 0. Plus...they have nine lives!!!

Maureen said...

Oh my... sorry, I KNOW these are stupid, but some of them are hilarious!!!!

I would get torn to shreds if I ever tried to dress one of our cats; and the dog is too much of a suck to keep a costume on, I'm sure, so my pets are safe.

Kurt said...

This is unacceptable!

VE said...

maureen - I'm glad you have pets willing to say 'no' in their own way...

kurt - I knew you wouldn't be happy...remember, I'm just the messenger.

leelee said...

I love 'em all...too cute!

HUGS!!

Jeff said...

Those are just sad. Poor widdo doggies :-(

But I do like the guinea pig outfit though.

angie said...

I personally think these pet costumes are pure genius! :)

Annie Ha said...

Really the only thing worse than dressing up your pet on Halloween is when you dress your pet on any other day of the year. I don't get it. A dog in a little sweater? Not cute, lame!

VE said...

leelee - Love 'em or hate 'em. They're still funny.

jeff - I think it would look good on you

angie - They are quite creative...if not disturbing.

annie ha - And those only thing worse than that is having your pet dress you!

Now this is what I'm talking about! These Animal suits are just hilarious, it's nice how such simple things can cause so much joy in the hearts of many. I hope you guys can continue this kind of trend.
