L is for LOVE

For the letter L, let’s focus on....

LOVE

There are so many things I could do with this topic. I thought we’d go in a different direction though. I’ll spit out some songs with the word Love in them and then give you the patented VE commentary that you so cherish (and THANK GOD the song Cherish won’t be featured in this post…oh…too late…)

All You Need is LoveThe Beatles
Yeah…tell that to the NY cabbie at the end of your fare

Love Me DoThe Beatles
This originally started as “Do me, love…” but you know how funny sensors were back then

Love Shack B52s
Has to be a southern redneck song; who else would love a shack?

When Love and Hate Collide Def Leppard
Errr….LATE?

The One I Love REM
Apparently NOT Tiger Woods favorite song…now if the one with "a hundred"...

Modern LoveDavid Bowie
Cause old love is icky when you have to take off the Depends…

Love is Like OxygenSweet
Full of pollutants and smoke?

You Give Love a Bad NameBon Jovi
Gertrude? Herb? Zeke?

Love GamesLevel 42
Great…another stupid Monopoly theme game…

Love DumpStatic-X
I agree, I love it when I finish taking a dump…

Love Don’t Make No SenseJoe
And neither does proper grammar…

Wow - props for the esoteric references to Sweet, Level 42 and Static X - lol

How about a little Suicidal, "Won't Fall in Love Today"?

Hi Subby,
I actually for once was truly sleeping. I gotta go to see this man I love today, well you know the dentist. UGH....

I was like so happy to be able to fall asleep early and as much as I love being first, I really do love falling asleep better. Please God let this be a sign. Ooops off to the dentist I go.

But I love all the love songs, Love, love, can make us together.

God bless.

subby - First, second, third and fourth! Wow! I forgot about Love Stinks...it should always be played after Love Dump...

kurt - And people keep saying size doesn't matter...right...

roy - I didn't go with the regular batch, did I? And why is it that love is always linked with falling? No wonder it hurts!

mrsupole - Sleep? Sleep is overrated...think of all that you're missing!

elizabeth - Ha! How could I forget that one (but I have been trying all my life)? Let's see...what would I say? Probably: Once you go vermin, you'll always be squirmin!

candie - Don't tell anyone but I wrote the post impromptu on Thu night because I hadn't prepared anything else...

subby - A good sturdy axe can break a heart too...

subby - Love in an elevator? My experience I wouldn't say was love...but it might make an insteresting story...but then the day care readers wouldn't be able to read my blog...

subby said...

But wait?! There's more! If you act now( no rehersal required )you can get the latest( or not so latest ) from these fantastic artists:
"Lovin' You is a Dirty Job"~~ by RATT

"Cherish is the word I use to describe
All the feeling that I have hiding here for you inside
You don't know how many times I've wished that I had told you
You don't know how many times I've wished that I could hold you
You don't know how many times I've wished that I could
Mold you into someone who could
Cherish me as much as I cherish you!"

And... you're WELCOME! *cheesy smile*

VE said...

subby - Could be...

gladys - You seem to know something about southern living!

subby - I can only remember "Turn me Loose"

perpetual chocoholic - Thanks for the individual reviews...that helps in determining what will evoke my daily "EWWW"

quirkyloon - You are cruel...Plus, I don't know how a love song can work the word "mold" into it...

Pump Strutts said...

Replace the word "love" with "pump" and your post gets really offensive. Thought you'd like to know.

It's interesting to see which ones you chose. Level 42? I never woulda thunk it!

Beth said...

Love is the Answer - but I forgot the question.

unfinishedrambler said...

Kurt beat me to it with Love Hurts...dang it.

I'm now at a loss. Can you come up with yet another one to help me out? :)

VE said...

pump strutts - Ha! It does. Only YOU could think of that...

megan - I can be a bit unpredictable...

beth - I think I tried that on a test in school...it didn't work

unfinishedrambler - How about Peter and Gordon...a World without Love (costs less and you don't have to hassle with Valentine's Day)

leelee said...

L is for LeeLee! and LOL!

Merry Christmas VE!!

HUGS!!

Janna said...

Love Bites! (Def Leppard).
That was one of my favorites, back in college.

Nowadays people would probably attach some stupid vampire reference to it.

Jeff said...

Totally off topic, but I watched "V for Vendetta" tonight, and Hugo Weaving's character was named "V" so every time Natalie Portman said his name it reminded me of you. I was like, "get the hell out of my movie VE!"

VE said...

leelee - LEELEE!!!! Merry Christmas. It was so nice of you to sneak away from Facebook to say hello. Yes...L is for Leelee too!

janna - I agree...Vampires bite...ruined a perfectly good genre by overflooding the market

jeff - I LOVE "V or Vendetta" so you are very one topic. Did you see she was "EV"? Fitting. Remember, like God and V agree, there are no coincidences and that is totally MY movie! Muh ha ha...

Jaime said...

do me love?

i think that one has a much better ring to it.

Sarah said...

What about LoveGame by Lady GaGa?
Or as I refer to her...the new Madonna!

Maureen said...

Ha! Yes, the most often used and mis-used word in modern music. Loved it.

VE said...

jaime - It's a much deeper version!

sarah - I can't say "GaGa" without feeling like I'm gargling...

maureen - Had to throw in one too, didn't ya!
