We're back...to fade to black

What the hell...it's already Nov 1st?

Interestingly, I didn't sign on to my blog once during my sabbatical. I didn't read any blogs (sorry, guys). I didn't jot down any humor ideas or thoughts.

So what did I do with my five weeks off?

I started taking Yoga, I wrote a 20-chapter non-fiction book that still needs another 10 chapters before its done, I spent quality time with the family, I did a lot of hiking.

I'm afraid to say it but I think I've come to the end of the line for my humor blog. I've been getting a strong urge to do some more serious writing and thoughts...I know many of you have similar blogs.

What it comes down to for this blog is what my blogger friend Kurt once said, "Where's the humor?" After all this time, I think I'm paraphrasing him but he's absolutely right. You've got to stick to what your readers expect and this has always been a bit of a crazy and zany humor ride. I seem to have lost that now. Not in ability to produce more of it but in interest to do more. Hey...over a thousand original humor posts is a lot! It's been a good run.

What is sad is that while I might change my mind and come back here again I can't be certain of that at all. I know I will miss the many cyber friends I've made along the way. I think soon I'll be starting up another blog (yes, another...) called "Tunneling to the Moon" in which I'm going to have more personal bits, more introspection and observation, not necessarily all funny though. You're welcome to let me know if you want to read that or not when I finally get started.

As a parting gift for now, just leave me a comment. I hope to make the rounds to your blogs to thank everyone for reading all these years.

See you out in cyberspace!

VE has left the building...

Say it isn't so, but at least give us our credit for our blog posts first place count. And you know that even if you just did one post a week that we would be happy little campers. It just seems like no one has the same sense of humor that you have and how are we now supposed to get our nonsense fix. Just gonna make one of us try to write nonsense that will not compare.

Well just so you know you are now listening to a very large "SIGH".

I wish you the very best and email me when you start your new blog unless you start it at this URL which is fine.

God bless, and you will be dearly missed.

I should probably spend more time on my yoga blog. ;-)

Anyway, I've enjoyed reading your humor. Good Luck with the more serious writing and let me know about the new blog.

Thanks for the funnies!

Thanks for the ride. I was late in finding your blog, but enjoyed it so I stayed. Let us know when you start something new. I'm sure we will enjoy that as well....even if it isn't zany!

Glad I stumbled upon your path, e'en if for just a little while :)

I don't remember saying that, but if it makes me sound wise, then all the better.

We had a blast for a long time. I'm sure they'll be many more satisfying projects in both our futures.

Aw, poop. I think there's something people must be inhaling in the blogosphere. Others are dropping off or slowing down. You'll be missed VE. Best of luck.

Awww, I'll miss your posts, but I understand. I've been neglecting my own site, too much going on in real life. Have fun with your new blog!

I would definitely be interested in reading a more serious blog from you! You're an interesting person, and have tons of stories and experiences to share, I am sure! Please let me know when you start it up.

I think you can make a blog whatever YOU want, not what you think people expect. Still, if it isn't bringing you anything, I can understand setting it aside Much luck to you!

to thine own self be true....and not to what is expected of you. i've enjoyed reading the zany but i'd welcome being able to read whatever you put on a new, more introspective blog. it will be a new side you reveal. hope you'll let me know where to find it when the time comes.

This is a sad day......I've taken a Sabbatical of sorts as well, although I don't have anything to show for it like 10 chapters of a book written! Kudos to you. I'm hoping I have happier kids though....:) Blogging is great because you can always come back......hint, hint. Best of luck!

OK. So I'm a little slow on the uptake here and just read this post, dated Oct. 31, on Dec. 18th. Real life gets in the way of the blogging stuff.

I wish you luck in your new blog, in your writing and in enjoying the things in life that bring you happiness.

Good luck to you, VE, way over there in the Other Portland!
