No wonder they say music messes up everyone with their suggestive lyrics. I've gone ahead and compiled the top five songs that are definite stalker songs. Let's take a look...
Number 5
Turn Around, Look at Me - The Vogues
There is someone walking behind you,
turn around, look at me.There is someone watching your footsteps,
turn around, look at me
Yes, even those innocent teen days of the early 60s went a bit stalker. Somewhere along here we moved from "I want to hold your hand" to following her everywhere. Creepy.
Number 4
I Can See for Miles - The Who
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeahIf you think that I don't know about the little tricks you play
And never see you when deliberately you put things in my wayWell, here's a poke at you
You're gonna choke on it tooYou're gonna lose that smile
Because all the while
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and milesI can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeah
Great, an ex that stalks with magical eyes watching your every move. This is why you should never date magicians...or people with good eyesight for that matter...
Number 3
I Will Follow You - Little Peggy March
I will follow you
Follow you wherever you may go
There isn't an ocean too deep
A mountain so high it can keep me away
Follow you wherever you may go
There isn't an ocean too deep
A mountain so high it can keep me away
Don't let her innocent name fool you, she's a full-time stalker! She's determined! Personally, I thought the bottom of the ocean would be stalker-free
Number 2
Run For Your Life - The Beatles
You better run for your life if you can, little girl
Hide your head in the sand little girlCatch you with another man
That's the end'a little girl
Yes, even The Beatles wrote a stalker song. Perhaps they were tired of a billion screaming girls stalking their every move.
Number 1
Every Breath You Take - The Police
Every breath you take
Every move you makeEvery bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you
Every single day
Every word you sayEvery game you play
Every night you stay
I'll be watching you
Every move you make
Every vow you breakEvery smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you
Well, you have to hand it to Sting for creating the ultimate stalker song. Watching a person's every breath takes a lot of concentration and time. This is like the pinnacle of stalkerdome!

Then there's the date rape song, "Baby, It's Cold Outside."
kurt - Good point...what WAS in that drink of hers? Sounds like another Hangover sequel in the making...
Don't forget the ultimate stalker / killer song - This is the end by The Doors.
What about that lamb Mary had? Creepy.
the police were like Big Brother...must have been stood up by Roxanne.
And to think I used to sing my little heart out to some of these!
(Was I a closet stalker??)
I always wondered about that breathing song. Scary stuff.
And I thought Sting was so sexy when he sang that song. Just what does that say about me?!?
hahah, i kept reading thinking, he's got to get to "every breath you take." thanks for not disappointing.
i remember hearing an interview with sting too about how disturbing he found it when people would tell him they thought it was such a romantic love song since even he regarded it more as a stalkerish thing.
I like at the end of Norwegian Wood how he sets the place on fire.
Short & sweet.
monkey man - Of course, you have to suffer through something like 20 minutes of Jim Morrison ranting on to realize this...
sybil law - Good one...that damn lamb was a nuisance...well, until Mary had herself some chops for dinner that is...
tom - Aren't the police and big brother one in the same?
beth - Apparently you were drinking the kool-aid! Anymore and you'd have been right out there with the paparazzi watching celebrities pick their noses...
reforminggeek - It's even more troubling to know he's also counting each breath...
incredible woody - It says you probably weren't listening to the lyrics...
lime - You knew I wouldn't let you down...
megan - Ha! That's a good one. You know, I think there were some lyrics dropped from that song. Right after she says "it's time for bed" but before he crawls to sleep in the bath. They just couldn't write about that kinky stuff that went on back then...
Maybe after one quits stalking, one writes music about it. I wonder how many more stalker songs are out there. Makes wanting to hold ones hand sound so innocent.
God bless.
def leppard's two steps behind is also pretty stalkerish
“Walk away if you want to.
Its ok, if you need to.
Well, you can run, but you can never hide
From the shadow that's creepin up beside you.”
You missed a few( thousand )but I'll let it slide...this time LOL! Here's a few more ;)
Queen~"Body Language" & "Tie Your Mother Down"
Sublime~"Date Rape"
Blondie~"Hangin' On The Telephone"
Ray Stevens~"The Streak"
Smash Mouth~"Nervous In The Alley"
Weird Al Yankovic~"Do I Creep You Out?"
Tommy James & the Shondells~"I Think We're Alone Now"
The Ramones~"Somebody Put Something In My Drink" & "I Wanna Be Sedated"( & so many more )
Peter Gabriel~"Intruder"
***SIGH***
mrsupole - Once a stalker...always a stalker...
jaime - I had to dismiss them on the account that they did this in the 80s...and I refuse to go back...
T - Great list. But all I have to say is that somebody has been downloading a lot of music! Mums the word...
and how do they see the breath in warm weather? huh ? can you tell me? I can see that they can in winter but warm weather summer time? OH YEAH maybe I should try a hand on this song writing after all I can write stupid stuff and probably make a fortune lol
